Overview

Equity Participations at 499sec.

A participation is not a transaction to us. It is the start of an ownership relationship we intend to keep.

The acquisition of participations in other companies is the first pillar of 499sec GmbH's statutory purpose. We look for companies with real operating substance: assets that generate, store, move or save energy, or technology and services that make those assets work better.

We are comfortable with different shapes of ownership. A significant minority stake alongside founders who want to keep running their business; a majority position where a succession or carve-out calls for it; or a co-investment next to partners we trust.

What it covers

Four things we do in this field.

01.1

Target identification

Sourcing operating companies and projects in generation, storage, grid and energy services across Germany and Europe.

01.2

Due diligence

Technical, commercial, regulatory, legal and financial review — carried out together with management, not against them.

01.3

Structuring

Direct participation or a dedicated holding vehicle; minority, majority or co-investment; equity, shareholder loans or a combination.

01.4

Closing & transition

A clean signing-to-closing process and a defined 100-day plan so the company keeps its momentum.

Our approach

How we work here.

Understand first

Before any term sheet we spend time in the business: sites, people, contracts, grid situation, regulatory position.

Fit the structure to the company

There is no standard template. Ownership, financing and governance are designed around what the company actually needs.

Commit for the long run

We are not building a portfolio to sell. We take stakes we intend to hold, develop and finance over many years.
